Where match play lived for eight years.
Northwest of Tucson, in the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains, The Gallery Golf Club’s two courses were shaped by John Fought, with Tom Lehman joining him on the North. In 2007 and 2008 the South Course hosted the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, with Henrik Stenson and then Tiger Woods lifting the trophy.
In 2009 the event moved next door to the Ritz-Carlton’s new 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature course, where it stayed through 2014, crowning Geoff Ogilvy, Ian Poulter, Luke Donald, Hunter Mahan, Matt Kuchar and Jason Day.
The Gallery remains a private club, open to non-members only as guests of the Ritz-Carlton, and the Nicklaus course is reserved for resort guests and members. This Pursuit plays both.
